Monkey turns 2!
In 45 minutes my little man will officially be two years old. I think back to what I was doing at this moment on the day he was born. The nurse was coming in to check and see if it was time to push yet. Jon was at my side rubbing my forehead. Mom and aunt Dana were taking photos and encouraging me. When I was 9cm dilated the nurse said it was time. I blinked and all of the sudden my labor room had magically transformed into a delivery room and 45 mintues later my beautiful son arrived. And my life as I knew changed forever.
How can it be that, that was two years ago? That tiny little 21 inch, 7 lb 15 oz baby boy is now over 2 1/2 ft tall and weighs about 32 lbs. He is running and talking and even starting to potty train. He hold a crayon like a big boy and understands humor that I didn't think he would get for years. My monkey is a big boy now. And I am a proud, proud momma.
Jareth's party was this past weekend. It was so much fun! It was Woody themed from Toy Story. It was in Athens at my in laws house. We had a bounce house in the yard and gave out cowboy hats, sheriff badges, and bandanas. His cake was "Woody" themed and all the decorations were Toy Story. My friend, Brittany, even made an awesome character drawing with the face cut out so all the kids could take photos as Woody. And there were two suprise visitors. Jessie and Buzz made an appearance! Here are some photos of the big day.

The Nursery
I am dying to decorate the nursery now that we know we are expecting a girl! I've had an idea of what I want to do for a while now. Browsing through Etsy one day I came across these.
I immediately decided if we were having a girl she was going to have an Alice in Wonderland nursery. Nothing over the top and not "cartoonish" (which I can't stand). More storybook like. So I started browsing around and came across these beautiful drawings.
So I called my nana and she said she can help me make a set. I think I want a medium to dark purple fabric that has a pretty sheen to it like this set does. I want it to be very feminine but simple. No bold patterns or print on it. I don't think it will be too hard. I hope...
I can't wait to get started on this. There's only one issue we have; the house is on the market. If we happen to be in this house when she is born, and fingers are crossed that we won't, the guest room will become the nursery. What if we fix up the nursery and the house sells? What if we don't and we are scrambling come March to have it ready in time. It's very frustrating to sell a house. And we really don't want to be here when baby girl arrives. I'm sure we can make it work but we really want more space. For one thing the guest room is where Jon's closet is. My clothes take up all the closet space in our room and Jareth's does in his too. But as I said, fingers are crossed that we won't be here in March and I will get to decorate the new nursery in a big/ger new house!
I fell in love. Oh yes, little miss yet to be named is going to have a wonderland of her own. And I'm really liking purple. I always imagined if I had a girl her nursery would be pink but I have to say purple has really grown on me. I love the purple shades on the teapot and the lotus in the drawings.
I want the room to be lavender and she will be using Jareth's white furniture. I want to put the three prints over the changing table and make a ribbon chandelier to put over the glider. The only trouble I'm having is with the bedding. I can't find a set that I like that won't break the bank. I really love this set that I came across but even if I could afford it, there is no way I'd spend $800 on baby bedding.

I Won!
I'm on Whattoexpect.com which is a community for pregnant women to get together and talk. They do contests every few weeks and give away anything from gift certificates to strollers. With the new What to Expect When Your'e Expecting movie coming out next year they are doing monthly contests for different prizes. I won the October prize for the best storyline, it's a free years supply of Dove hair products! They did a little feature on the site and I just recieve my huge box of products! So exciting. It's time to congratulate another Star of the Month, who holds the title for October. Heather Anderson won the Best Storyline Giveaway (and a year's supply of Dove Nourishing Oil Care Hair System products) with the following post about her real-life pregnancy story:
"So I'm drying off after a shower and look at my belly in the mirror and get all warm and fuzzy about the life that I am growing inside me. Then I take a peek at the back: 'What is that on my caboose? Please tell me that someone drew a little squiggly line on my hiney with a purple pen in the middle of the night.'
Nope, it's definitely my first stretch mark. After mountains of Palmer's along with other elasticity-promising lotions, it finally happened. The sad part is that it is most likely only the beginning. I knew it would happen but hoped it wouldn't creep up on me until the last few weeks of pregnancy, like some of the other women I have spoken to. But with an extra 17 pounds on my relatively small frame, my skin just couldn't accommodate. I still have 14 weeks to go until my due date. That's a lot of time to gain more weight and accumulate more of these purple lines on my tush. I just hope they stay on my tush. Stay away from the belly you pesky bikini-haters! My new resolution is not to look at my rear in the mirror anymore. In her book, Belly Laughs, Jenny McCarthy warns about this. But I didn't heed her advice. No pregnant lady should ever look at her rear end in a full-length mirror. Unless you are a supermodel, of course. Those pregnant supermodels should be force-fed doughnuts every day."

Which cast member are you most looking forward to seeing in the What to Expect movie?
I’m really excited to see all the ladies in the film work together. As a fan of My Sister’s Keeper, Vanilla Sky, andThe Sweetest Thing, I’m especially excited to see Cameron Diaz in her role. I know she will play the mom part with humor.
Which storyline can you relate to the most?
I feel like I can relate to both J.Lo’s and Elizabeth Banks’s characters. I had a hard time conceiving after experiencing a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. We were contemplating adoption and talking about fertility treatments when we surprisingly conceived our son. After I got pregnant I had it all planned out. No pacifiers, no bottles, a natural birth, etc. Well that all went out the window when delivery day arrived! I was induced and two hours in I begged for the epidural.
Will you plan a special night out to see the movie in May?
I plan to have a girls’ night out! I’m pregnant now and the baby is due in March, so May will be the perfect time to get my girlfriends together for dinner and a movie!
What about your romance with your partner is made for the movies?
My husband and I are high-school sweethearts. We were 14 and 15 when we started dating in a very small town. I followed him to college and we got married after graduating. We basically grew up together.
What are your favorite romantic comedy flicks?
Romantic comedies are great. You have to have humor in a relationship or it just doesn’t work. One of my favorite romantic comedies is How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days. I also love The Sweetest Thing, which stars What to Expect’s own Cameron Diaz.
What about your pregnancy has been film-worthy?
Well, we are finding out today whether we are having a boy or a girl in a very special way. This morning I had the ultrasound tech seal the gender in an envelope. I’m taking it to a party store to have them open the envelope after I leave and put either blue or pink helium balloons in a sealed box. Then we are going to a field with a photographer and opening the box. I think that’s pretty film-worthy.
Which celebrity mom do you hope you’re most like once you’re a parent?
Jennifer Lopez seems to be doing it right. I rarely see her kids in the news, and when I do it’s quite apparent that she’s protective of them.
When did you know you were ready to become a mom?
When did I not know is the real question! I’ve always wanted to be a mom; it’s what I’m meant for. By the time I was nineteen I had a timeline all planned out. It showed when I was going to get married, graduate from college, buy a house, and have kids. Each milestone had a cute icon with the date I planned it to happen.
If you could ask any of the WTE movie cast members one question, what would you want to know?
I want to ask Joe Manganiello if he would be so kind as to send an autographed photo to my sister. She’s sort of in love with him.
Which cast member do you think you could be mommy friends with?
I think I could be good friends with Anna Kendrick. We are the same age, we both like theater, and she seems very down to earth. I mean the fact that I love Twilight has nothing to do with it.Stay tuned for the next giveaway and a chance to become November's Star of the Month!
